ARCHIE WILCOTT (published on June 23, 2009)

ARCHIE WILCOTT Passed away suddenly on June 19, 2009 in Kenora, Ontario, at the age of 65. He leaves behind his wife Judy, his five sons, Frank, Roger (Roxanne), Mark, Martin (Cindy) and Michael Wilcott. His eight grandchildren: Jazlyn, Anthony, Calisha, Assia, Christopher, Austin, Shelby and Cole. His mother Florence Wilcott, brother Robert (Felicia) Wilcott, sisters Irene (Mark) Fountain, Hermaine (Robert) Lussier and brothers-in-law, Bill Hladki and Gunner Osterman. As well as his mother and father-in-law Jeanne and Stan Groshak, sisters-in-law Jan (Tim), Debbie (Ryan) and brother-in-law Dan (Andrea), along with many nieces and nephews, also Lisa Nagy and Jane Roy and many friends too numerous to mention. Archie was predeceased by his father William Wilcott, sisters Henriette Osterman, Doris Hladki, Jeanne Popaden and brothers-inlaw Denis Popaden and Peter Vrisk. Archie worked his whole life in the logging industry. He saw the past, present and future of logging. Working in the bush was his passion next to his family and friends. When the forestry industry collapsed, it changed his life forever. Archie was the best. He was a great man, loved by all. He was always willing to give you the shirt off his back to help others. He was always in his shop, fixing, fabricating or just having a beer with the boys. He even became a racing mechanic when the group ventured into the sport of Sno X. Many good times were had with Hal, Jerry, Rick and Dave. Fixing or repairing: Mike, Spencer, Nathan, Jeremy Braydn and Mike's sleds. Archie loved riding his motorcycle. He loved the speed and freedom of the ride. His big white Harley took him on his last journey here on earth. Hope there is a Harley waiting for him so he can ride for eternity, for now he is free. We love you and we miss you, you are forever in our hearts. Prayers will be said on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Centre. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Notre Dame du Portage with Father Rudy Manaloto officiating. Interment will follow at the Lake of the Woods Cemetery. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Canadian Hearing Society, The Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Asthma Society. Online condolences may be made at www.MeM.com. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Centre entrusted with arrangements.
