RICHARD REID KAPROWY (published on July 04, 2009)

RICHARD REID KAPROWY It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Richard Reid Kaprowy beloved husband, father, and grandfather on June 30, 2009, at the age of 65 years. Rick was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Mary Kaprowy. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife and friend Judy, his children Kerri (Jason Guralnick) and Geoffrey, and his grandsons Joshua and Seth. Rick graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in 1969, successfully completed his FRCPC in Diagnostic Imaging in 1974, and entered into a Radiology partnership that lasted over 30 years. To this day he cherished the friendships he made during that time; the laughter, the companionship and the academic conversations in his office that made the work days pass quickly. Rick was a devoted family man who cherished every moment with his children and loving grandsons; enjoyed spending time at the cottage; teaching everyone about the valued lessons in life, about the northern lights and stars; camping in the wilderness; being Mr. Fix-it; and always finding time to go fly in fishing with his buddies and their fathers. He looked forward to cribbage games in the evening with his family. Rick loved to travel and most recently found that road trips held a special appeal. Rick, thank you for being my devoted partner and friend for 37 years we had very special memorable times together. You were a caring, kind, generous father to Kerri, Geoffrey, and son-in-law Jason and a loving grandfather to Joshua and Seth. We all have sweet, fond memories to console us and to give us that needed laugh to get us through these days. Rest in peace Rick and know that the valued wisdom you took time to share will help guide us all through our life's journeys. A celebration of Rick's life will be held at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. on Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. If friends so wish, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Siloam Mission at 300 Princess Street, Winnipeg, MB R3B 1M3.
