BILL MUZYKA On June 30, 2009 at the Gimli Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his loving family and after a hard fought battle with lung cancer, Bill passed away peacefully. Bill will be greatly missed by his wife of 47 years Helen, children Duane (Benita), Darren (Elaine), Wanda (Darvin). Grandchildren Richard, Justine, Dallas, Gage, Linzy (Randy), Cole (Kaitlyn), Chris (Katlyn), Lyndon. One great granddaughter Madison. He will also be greatly mourned by his sisters Mildred (Peter), Joan (Paul), Marilyn (Gregg), Bridgette (Lance). Brothers Leonard (Kathy), Emery (Lorraine), Bryan (Odile), Peter, Carl (Anna). Sister-in-law Margaret Selkirk, brother-in-law Robert Doubleday (Bertha) and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Bill was predeceased by his parents Peter and Sunflower, brothers Frank and Douglas. Parents-in-law Humphrey and Beth and granddaughter Nicole. Brother-in-law Sandy and sister-in-law Elizabeth. Bill was born January 3, 1942 and was raised on the family farm in Fisher Branch. He started to drive truck for the local transfer and met and married Helen. They lived in British Columbia for a few years then moved back to Manitoba in 1975 where they bought a farm in the Riverton area. Bill was a man who loved trucks, all children and animals. He enjoyed family dinners, hanging out with his sons and grandchildren, talking on the phone everyday to his daughter were things Grampa Bill cherished. Bill liked nothing more than to get all dressed up and go dancing with Helen and a group of friends till the wee hours. After a lifetime of hard work, Bill decided he wanted to retire. He built a little house by Norris Lake off Hwy 17, a lake he passed by everyday in the 60's and always wanted to live there. He enjoyed his past year there where he enjoyed his family and friends stopping in. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 6, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the Riverton Gospel Chapel Church, with Fellowship to follow with a private family interment. The family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to the doctors and nurses at the Gimli Memorial Hospital for all the love and wonderful care given to Bill during his illness. In lieu of flowers, friends may make a donation to a charity of their choice. There are things that we don't want to happen but have to accept, things we don't want to know but have to learn, and people we can't live without but have to let go. Hope there's lots of hay to haul in heaven, grandpa. (Arborg) MacKenzie Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
