ALRUN GAY JOHNSON Suddenly on June 28, 2009 with her family by her side, Gay passed away peacefully at the Health Sciences Centre. Left to cherish her memory are her children Tami, Corinna, Gerret (Jen), Gavin (Jaime) and Lorelei (Jason); grandchildren Kristinn, Damien, Ryan, Brendon, Brett, Joshua, Christa, Allynne, Paige, Brooke, Corey, Rebecca, Samantha, Kacee, Dalton and Keegan; her siblings Fred (Sandy), Dora, Lillian, Gunnar (Lorainne), John (Kathy), Fay (Richard), (Orville), Victor (Donna), and (Francine); her in-laws Sigmar (Hulda), (Larus), Valdi (Sigga), Fjola (Stan), Roy (Pat), Loa, Bene and (Fridjon); numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Gay was predeceased by her husband Norman; parents Gunnar and Anna Palson; her in-laws Valdi and Runa Johnson; sister Joy; brother Vincent; in-laws Gerri, Ray, Fred, Inga, Steini, Margaret, Ruth and Richie. Born in the Gimli Hospital on December 27, 1942, she grew up in the Arnes area. In 1961 Gay met the love of her life Norman, they married in 1963 and resided in Riverton until they moved to Ledwyn in 1994. Mom loved gardening both indoors and out. She was an avid and creative crafter, she enjoyed making articles for her family and friends, but it was her family that meant the world to her. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She loved spending time with them having sleepovers and teaching them crafts. Honourary pallbearers are her grandsons. A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 6, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the Riverton Recreation Centre, with Mona Johnson officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Riverton-Hnausa Lutheran Church. Thank-you Riverton and Arborg EMS, Arborg Hospital and HSC. Gilbart Funeral home, Gimli in care of arrangements.
