GERALD NORMAN RATTAI (published on July 06, 2009)



GERALD NORMAN RATTAI Gerald passed away suddenly July 2, 2009 at the Kenora Ontario Hospital at the age of 69. Gerald will be greatly missed by his wife of 44 years Arlene, children Vincent (Liana), Vaughn (Wendy), grandchildren, Brendan, Garrett and Thalia, Tyler, Landon and Dawson. He will also be greatly missed by his sisters Grace (Abe), Donna (Jim), Sharon (Ralph) and numerous nieces and nephews. Gerald was predeceased by his parents, Adolph and Magdalena and his brother Al Charles. Gerald was born July 20 1939 in St. Ouens Manitoba. He was raised there on the family farm. He began his teaching career in Beausejour Manitoba. He married Arlene Storsley July 31, 1965. They raised two boys Vincent and Vaughn in Winnipeg. Gerald taught sciences at Selkirk Composite High School for many years and retired from there in 1995. Gerald was extremely proud of his family. He was especially proud of all his grandchildren and their many accomplishments. Special thanks to Traiq and Annette Hameed, Peter , Jerry and Diane Zilkosky for their quick response to Gerald as well as their compassionate care for Arlene before the family could arrive. Viewing is on Tuesday, July 7, 2009 between 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Covenant Christian Reform Church, 653 Knowles Avenue, Winnipeg. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday July 8 at the same location at 10:30 a.m. with a reception to follow. Geralds faith in God and his savior Jesus Christ sustained him through the joyous and trying times of his life.
