STANLEY POWORSKI (published on July 07, 2009)

STANLEY POWORSKI Peacefully on July 5, 2009 Stanley Poworski passed away in the arms of God. In life and during his illness he was surrounded by family and friends. He will be met by many angels and reunited with his little Shelley. He will be sadly missed by all especially by the love of his wife Stella. Also cherishing his memories are his children Ken (Linda), Sharon (Rob), Wayne (Natasha), Wendy (Carl) and his grandchildren Matthew, Steven, Lisa, Michelle, David; Christopher, Kyle; Loren, Roy; Carlene, Brandon, Cole, and Graydon. Stanley was born and raised in the family community of Malonton, MB on February 16, 1930. He traveled to work in the mines of Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia. Making his home in Winnipeg he worked at Agriculture Canada but his heart was in the Interlake. Retiring in Winnipeg Beach he spent time in the garden and loved working with his sons in the grain fields, spending time with the grandchildren and loving the outdoors. Stanley will be remembered by all for his wave and being a partner to all his friends young and old. Thank you to all the staff at Gimli Community Health Centre for his care. Prayers will be held on Wednesday July 8 at 7:30 p.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Teulon. A private family interment service will be held. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons. On Thursday, July 9 all are welcome to attend a yard celebration of his life at his home. Please come anytime after 4:00 p.m. Stanley loved gardening and in tribute, if you like, bring a small geranium in his memory to be planted in his garden. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gimli Palliative Care. Gone to the Garden Vichnaya Pamyat MacKenzie Funeral Home, Teulon in care of arrangements.
