HOPE MACKENZIE (published on July 08, 2009)

HOPE MACKENZIE September 16, 1948 - July 5, 2009 It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we are announcing the sudden passing of Hope Mackenzie on Sunday July 5, 2009, at the St. Boniface General Hospital at the age of 60 years. Born September 16, 1948 and named Hope because she was a miracle baby to John and Anne Trush (Kutcher). We were blessed to have Mom with us for 60 years. She was a teacher of love, respect and the true meaning of friendship. Hope is survived by her children Alacoe (Craig MacTavish), and Ryley(Lucia Bova). Proud grandmother of Everett, Deirdra and Laura. Survived by brother Bill (Mary Trush) and many nieces and nephews across the country. Hope was the best mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend to all who had the honour of knowing her. To say she will be missed is a tremendous understatement. Hope was a professional interior designer for close to 40 years. This was a profession for which she truly had a passion. She will be missed by the professional associations of which she was an active member including PIDIM. We are grateful she did not suffer through a long, painful battle with cancer. Her passing was sudden, surrounded by family, friends and the love she deserved. The Doctor's and Nurse's at St. Boniface Hospital, both in the ER and 5th floor were truly amazing. Thank you to all. Funeral Mass will be celebrated from The Parish of St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church, 135 John Forsyth Rd., Winnipeg, Saturday, July 11, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. Reverend Father Gerry Ward celebrant. Interment in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, corner of Cooks Creek Rd. and Zora Rd., R.M. of Springfield. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Mary's Academy Foundation Inc. (1-204-478-6030) in memory of Hope Mackenzie (Class of '66).
