REID ANDERSON (published on July 08, 2009)

REID ANDERSON It is with deeply saddened hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Reid David James Anderson at the age of 22 years on Saturday, July 4, 2009 after a tragic accident. Remaining to forever cherish Reid's memory are his mother Joan; father David (Laurie); brother Kyle; sisters Victoria, Elicia, and Lori (Dave); Grandpa Peter Dyck; Grandma Rae and Grandpa Bob Anderson, as well as numerous aunts and uncles and cousins. He will also be sadly missed by friends, classmates, co-workers, Profs and special friend, Laura Standish and Laura's mom, Barb Deviaene. Reid was predeceased by Grandma Sonia Dyck and Uncle Wayne Anderson. Reid was born May 28, 1987, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He graduated from Oak Park High School, after attending some of his high school years in Carberry. Reid was attending the University of Manitoba and had just completed his second year of Mechanical Engineering and was working as a summer student at Manitoba Hydro in Distribution Engineering. He always had a passion for how things work and had found his niche in Engineering. Reid loved his life in Carberry as well as his life in Winnipeg; he believed he had the best of both worlds. Reid had a love for extreme sports; it would be hard to say which was his favourite but snowboarding, and motocross was at the top of his list. His natural athletic ability helped him excel at both of these sports. Music was another love of Reid's. He played both guitar and clarinet and would quickly learn a song and then start experimenting with it. He taught us that notes on a page were not music; it's what you did with them that mattered. Reid had an inquisitive mind, quick wit, and a very gentle soul. There are many families and friends who have had the opportunity to love Reid as their own. He will be forever missed but always loved by many. Reid's funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the Charleswood United Church, 4820 Roblin Blvd. The family would like to thank the paramedics, HSC emergency room doctors, nurses and surgical team for their valiant effort in trying to save Reid's life. We also thank all our wonderful friends for their love and support during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a charity of one's choice in honour of Reid.
