HARRY KAYE (published on July 21, 2009)

HARRY KAYE April 1, 1926 - July 16, 2009 With his family by his side, Harry passed away peacefully on July 16, 2009. He was 83. Harry will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, family man, friend and neighbour. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Bobbie, son-in-law Harvey; granddaughter Kelly, her husband Brad and their son, Harry's pride and joy, his beautiful great-grandson Hayden Harry. Dad was predeceased by his loving wife of 50 years, Marie and his brother Bob. Harry was born in Winnipeg. He enlisted in the Canadian Navy at a very young age and then dedicated over 35 years of service to the Canadian National Railway, retiring in 1982. Harry loved a good party, big band music and to dance. He enjoyed curling, golfing, bowling and gardening. He was a very kind, loveable guy who always had a smile and lighthearted comment to offer when he met someone. Harry was energetic, hardworking and always thought of his family first. Our world was definitely a better place because of him and he will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed. Many thanks of appreciation for the special care given by the medical staff in the M.I.C.U. at Health Sciences Centre, especially Nurse Leigh-Ann and Dr. Jason Waechter. As per Harry's wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will take place at Green Acres Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 22 at 2:00 p.m. We welcome friends and family to come and share some fond memories with us. In lieu of flowers and if you wish, donations may be made in Harry's memory to: The Manitoba Lung Association, CancerCare Manitoba, The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba or the charity of your choice. Dad, Grandpa, G.G., You will always be in our hearts. It was a great ride - thanks for the memories. Green Acres Funeral Home and Cemetery Highway # 1 East (Inside Perimeter Hwy.) 222-3241
