OLIVE SEMCHUK February 13, 1919 - July 18, 2009 It is with deep regret our family announces the passing of Olive Semchuk, on July 18, 2009 at Maples Personal Care Home at the age of 90 years. She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her devoted husband of 70 years, Tony; daughters, Loretta Merriam (Edward) and Janice Borowski (Frank); grandchildren, Corinne Duguay (Jules), Pamela Dyck (Murray), David Borowski (Stacey); great-grandchildren, Caitlin, Taylor and Gabrielle Duguay, Bailey Rostek, Madelyn and Kayla Borowski; sisters Hazel Chute and Victoria Stebeleski; sisters-in-law, Emily Shmon, Helen Shmon, Bessie Masterman and Rose Semchuk, and many nieces and nephews. Olive was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Mary Shmon; sisters, Anne Stebeleski, Mary Holwachuk and Janice Mason; brothers, Bill and Ernie Shmon; brothers-in-law, Fred Stebeleski, Gerald Stebeleski, Melburn Chute, Mike Holwachuk, Ernie Semchuk, Frank Masterman, Nick Yerema and sister-in-law, Julia Yerama. The most important things in Olive's life were her family and her church. The family would like to extend their appreciation to Dr. D. Caners and the staff at Plessis Medical Centre, the Home Care staff, and lastly, but not least, the staff of Maples Personal Care Home, who looked after Olive so lovingly, especially her last week after she had suffered a stroke. Funeral service to be held Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at All Saints Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 1500 Day Street with Father Bill Wasyliw officiating. Interment to follow at Transcona Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Borowski, Murray Dyck, Frank Munn, Kirk Shmon, Tommy Shmon and Brian Stebeleski. In lieu of flowers, if friends so wish, memorial donations may be made to All Saints Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 1500 Day St., Winnipeg, MB R2C 1E4, or to a charity of choice. Vichnaya Pam'Yat
