ROBERT GOLDIE WILSON (published on July 21, 2009)

ROBERT GOLDIE WILSON Peacefully on July 17, 2009 Robert passed away at the age of 89, at River East Personal Care Home with his family at his side. Dad will be sadly missed by his son Robert (Louise) and daughter Terri-Ann (Bob), his grandchildren Chelsey (Nelson), Jason and Sean (Krista), and also his six great-grandchildren that could light up his eyes. He is also survived by his brothers Reg (Helen) and Tom, his dearest friend Norma Hodgkins as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Dad has gone to join his beloved wife Gertrude who predeceased him in 1991, son Bruce 1997, grandson Scott 2003, and brother Bud. Dad was very proud to have served in the Army (R.C.A.S.C.) from 1944 to 1946 and enjoyed telling stories of his time served. He worked as a baker for many years at General Bakeries and later retired from Dalhousie School where he worked as a custodian. During his career at Dalhousie he enjoyed helping with the special needs children. Dad enjoyed both watching and coaching sports. He loved music whether it was to dance or sing, you could often see him grabbing a microphone and singing his heart out. Dad was always a gentle, caring and loving man, who will be greatly missed by all. The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to the wonderful staff at River East Personal Care Home for their excellent care of our Dad. Funeral service 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook Street, with Rev. Kenn Garrity officiating. Interment Brookside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the River East Personal Care Home or the St. Amant Foundation, 440 River Road, Winnipeg, MB, R2M 3Z9. Condolences www.bardal.ca
