GERARD JOSEPH DUPUIS February 1, 1938 July 22, 2009 Peacefully at the Altona Community Memorial Health Centre after a short but valiant battle with Cancer, Gérard passed away. He was predeceased by his parents Wilfrid and Marie-Louise; siblings Roger, Thérèse, Aimé, and Ulysse; in-laws Edmond, Jeannine, Léontine, Paul, Léon, Maurice and Patricia. His memory will be cherished by his wife of 50 years Irène; his children Lynne (Don), Alain (Leanne), Daniel (Gwen); grandchildren Nicholas, Justin, Eric, Rachael, Shaeleigh, and Meagan. He will also be remembered by siblings Théodore (Germaine), Alida, René (Roma), Jean-Guy (Jeanette), Arthur (Dorothée); brothers and sisters-in-law Charles-Emile, René (Jeannette), Sr. Lucille, Sr. Thérèse, Marcel (Mary), Marcelina, Henri (Joan), Yvette (Denis), Sr. Agnès, Denis (Shirley), Lise (Réal); and numerous nieces and nephews. Gérard was born in St. Jean and lived there most of his life with a few memorable years in Balmertown, Ontario. His number one joy was his family. He had many fond memories of his adventures with friends and family especially his canoe and camping trips. He sat on many boards in St. Jean including the new Chalet Montcalm. In lieu of flowers, friends may make a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society. Celebration of Life will take place in the St. Jean Baptiste Roman Catholic Church on Monday, July 27 at 2:00 p.m. Cremation has taken place. Inurnment will follow the service.
