GEORGE RUSSELL FRIESEN George Russell Friesen of Gleniston Gardens, Prince Charles Drive, 88 years young, beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend, passed away at the Princess Margaret Hospital after a brief illness on Friday July 31, 2009. He was predeceased by his wife Lillian Linda (nee Russell), his son Bradley David, his parents George and Anna Friesen. Left to celebrate his life are his son Norman, grandson Jonathan Friesen Pritchard, brothers Jake and Al, daughter-in-law Karen Pritchard, brothers-in-law Walter and Kenaz Russell and Bill Schmidt, sisters-in-law Audrey Russell, Irene Russell and Kay Russell, nieces Charlene Acree, Deborah Finger, Cherie Carey, Julie Carey, Melinda Bethel, Melody Pinder, Deborah Friesen, nephews Gregory, Michael, Andrew and Walter (Jr.) Russell, Rod and Ken Friesen, nephew-in-law Greg Morton, grand nieces Jennifer Finger, Melissa, Kristy and Madison Russell, Lauren, Jennifer and Courtney Friesen, Grand Nephews Christopher Finger, Cory and Lucas Russell, Kyle Bethel, Matthew Pinder, Scott Friesen. Left also to celebrate his life are good and special friends who are now part of our family Charmaine (Jackie) Dobson and Peter Rahming who cared for him over the eight and one-half years after his stroke and came to love him dearly. Other family and friends include Glen Pritchard, Patrick, Cynthia and Ryan Sweeting, Norah Du Plessis, George Ageeb, fellow members of the Nassau Lions Club including Mike Martinborough, Ed Knowles and Ezra Knowles, a host of friends in Abaco including Mr. Pat Bethel and family, Mr. Brian Harris and family and Mr. Glen Albury and family. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Salvation Army Erin H. Gilmour School for the Blind, P.O. Box N. 1980, Nassau, in memory of George R. Friesen. Friends have paid their respects at Kemp's Funeral Home Limited, Nassau. A funeral service will be held at Calvary Bible Church, Collins Avenue, Nassau on Saturday, August 8, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Frederick Arnett, J.P. will officiate and interment will follow in Woodlawn Gardens Cemetery, Soldier Road, Nassau.
