PAUL PALLAS Born April 1, 1923 - Died August 5, 2009 What you leave behind is not engraved in stone monuments, but what is woven into the lives of others Paul was born in Wansleben/Halle and immigrated to Canada from Frankfurt in 1952. He leaves to mourn his loving wife of 56 years Kathe, and daughter Karin. Also mourning his loss are his sisters-in-law Hildegard Elke and Vera Lueck, as well as many nieces and nephews from Canada and Germany. In 1953, Paul started his successful painting and decorating business Pallas Painting and Decorating . He was an active member for many years of the German Society of Winnipeg, The German Canadian Business Association, Hansa Credit Union, St. John's Lutheran Church, and for 23 years a member of Elmhurst Golf and Country Club. For the past two years Paul enjoyed his membership with his golf buddies from the Garden City Senior Golfers. Besides his love for golf, he loved his fishing trips to the North. His enthusiasm for soccer was well known. In past years, many joyful summer days were spent with friends and family at his Twin Beaches cottage. The family wishes to thank and acknowledge the dedication and care provided by the doctors and nurses at the St. Boniface General Hospital. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at St. John's Lutheran Church, College Ave. and McKenzie St., with interment following in Brookside Cemetery. Visitation will take place Monday, August 10, 2009 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Klassen Funeral Home. Should friends desire, donations may be made in Paul's memory to Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg R3C 9Z9. Wenn das Licht erlischt bleibt die Trauer.
