EDNA MAY NORTH (published on August 15, 2009)

EDNA MAY NORTH On Monday, August 10, 2009, at East Gate Lodge in Beausejour, Edna peacefully passed away at the age of 92 years. Edna is survived by niece Karen Jackson (Brent) and nephew Dale Streich (Gwen), Judy Moar (Ian), great-nieces and great-nephews Ronald Jackson, Amanda Stark (James), Justin Streich (Sandra), Paul Moar (Kathy), Todd Moar, and Wendy Moar, as well as great-great-niece Hannah Downey and great, great-nephew Jack Streich. Edna was predeceased by her parents, Florence and Fred Sanderson, her husband, Arnall North, her sister and brother-in-law, Freda and Fred Streich, and her nephew, Ron Streich. Edna's career as an Administrative Secretary continued following her marriage to Arn in 1957. In 1960, Edna and Arn discovered Daytonia Beach in Beausejour and built a cottage by the Brokenhead River in what was to become Kenbro Park. In 1967, after Arn's retirement, they made the cottage their permanent home. Edna's family shares many fond memories of visits to Aunt Eddie's cottage. Edna was an active member of St. Paul's United Church in Beausejour. She participated in choir and helped with many of the church's fundraising activities. Edna volunteered at both the hospital and at East Gate Lodge. She generously gave of herself whenever the need arose. Our heartfelt thanks goes out to the staff of East Gate Lodge who provided our dear Aunt Edna with such loving care these past few years. Her memorial service will be held in the chapel at East Gate Lodge, 646 James Avenue, Beausejour on Monday, August 17 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Anne Cook officiating. In lieu of flowers, Edna's family would appreciate that donations be made in her memory to St. Paul's United Church or to East Gate Lodge. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor other heavenly rulers or powers, neither the present nor the future, neither the world above nor the world below - there is nothing in all creation that will ever be able to separate us from the love of God which is ours through Christ Jesus our Lord.
