ANNIE NICHIPORUK (published on August 15, 2009)

ANNIE NICHIPORUK Do not mourn for me, for I have not left you. Look in the eyes of my children and grandchildren and you will find me there. It is with profound sadness, heartbreaking grief and endless love that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear mother, Annie Nichiporuk in Swan River, Manitoba after a lengthy illness. She will forever be lovingly remembered by her three children, Mary (Jerry) Venables of Pelican Lake, Manitoba, Nel Storey of Calgary, Alberta and Lawrence (Elizabeth) Nichiporuk of Winnipeg, Manitoba; two granddaughters, Traci (Rob) Friesen of Winnipeg, Manitoba and Jodi (Rick) Baker of Neepawa, Manitoba; five great-grandchildren, Taylor, Kayla and Colton Friesen; Linden and Kennedy Barker; brother, Michael Yaremchuk; sisters, Elsie (Walter) Mychalchuk, Nellie Bertko and Marilyn (Mervin) Holinaty as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband Carl, parents Tom and Sophie Yaremchuk and three brothers, Lucas, Samuel and Walter Yaremchuk. The last years of Mom's life were difficult but were intent on remembering our Mother as the kind and generous soul she was and the genuine happiness and pride she had in her children and grandchildren. We will miss all that she was so famous for, her excellent cooking, her keen sense of humour, her generosity and her graciousness and most of all the selfless energy with which she loved her family. She leaves a very large void in our lives and she will be sadly missed. The family would like to thank the kind and always thoughtful staff at the Swan River Valley Lodge for their companionship and care during Mom's residence there. Evening visitations were held on Friday, August 7, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Paull Funeral Home, Swan River, Manitoba. Funeral Service was held on Saturday, August 8, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. from the Chapel of Paull Funeral Home. Father Rod Laziuk officiated. Following the service a fellowship luncheon was held at Heritage Memorial Gardens, Swan River, Manitoba. Annie was then laid to rest in the St. Laurentius Ukrainian Greek Orthodox Parish Cemetery. Should friends so desire, memorial donations in Annie's honour may be made to the Alzheimer Foundation or to St Laurentius Church. The Broken Chain Little did we know that morning, that God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly In death we do the same You left us peaceful memories Your love is still our guide And thought we cannot see you You are always at our side. Our family chain is broken And nothing will seem the same But as God calls us one by one The chain will link again. Paull Funeral Home and Crematorium are honoured to have served the family.
