MARGARET MACKIE MCGREGOR (nee MASTERTON) Peacefully on August 11, 2009 after a brief illness, Margaret McGregor, aged 90, passed away at Victoria General Hospital with loved ones at her side. Margaret was predeceased by her husband Bill in 2000. She will be lovingly remembered by her four daughters, Sandra Grevstad (Dale), Barbara Bowles, Catherine Mernie McGregor (Cliff Griffith), and Robyn McGregor (George Opincariu); her three precious granddaughters, Alison (Sebastien), Hilary (Chris), and Ainsley; and the light of her recent years, her great-grandson Keagan. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and her extended family Marj Grevstad and Lawson Tarbuth. Marg was born and raised in East Kildonan In 1941 she married Bill and they raised their children there until 1965 when they moved to eastern Canada Upon Bill's retirement in 1983, they returned to Winnipeg where Marg was able to be with her three granddaughters who were her pride and joy. Margaret will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She had a generosity of spirit which she extended to all; No favour was too large for family or friends. Entertaining was one of her greatest pleasures and her cooking and baking talents were renowned, Sunday dinners were special times and unexpected guests were always welcome. She relished special occasions as they provided the opportunity for her to see the pleasure her efforts brought to others. Margaret will also be remembered for her sense of humour, her enjoyment of a good time, and her glamour and style. Margaret taught her children and her grandchildren the importance of family by modeling unconditional love and unwavering support of all of them. The memories her children, grandchildren and great-grandson have of her will be cherished and she will remain in their hearts forever. The family wishes to thank Dr. Pacin and the staff at Victoria Hospital for their care of Margaret and the compassion extended to the family. Cremation has taken place. In keeping with Marg's wishes friends of the family are invited to join them in a celebration of her life on Sunday, August 16 between 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. at the family home.
