DANIEL DIRK JAMES KENNING (published on August 15, 2009)

DANIEL DIRK JAMES KENNING July 16, 1973 - August 11, 2009 With great sorrow we announce the passing of Daniel (Dan) our beloved son, brother, nephew and cousin on Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at his family home. Dan is survived by his loving parents Jim and Carole, his sister Tracey and brother-in-law Shayne, as well as his many aunts, uncles and cousins. Dan surrounded himself with a strong and loving circle of friends. He held dear many special people whom he considered his family. They shared Dan's joy, enthusiasm, sense of adventure and fun. Dan Painter, Lorne Sheridian, Melodie Richard, Kim Coghill and all of his colleagues at Media Edge Dan's family thanks you all for your care and support during Dan's courageous battle with cancer. Dan loved to read. This was evident at an early age. A polished reader by the age of two, hence his career path - communications and journalism in various forms. Dan shared his many gifts through writing and creative medium all of which stemmed from his love of reading. He was the Senior Editor for a national magazine where he held a prominent role within a gifted and talented team of people. He was a renaissance man; charismatic, cultured, intelligent, and accomplished; who shared his talent and gifts with such heart. The family wishes to thank Dr. M. Krahn and her staff at Cancer Care (St. Boniface), the staff of 5E - St. Boniface Hospital and the Home Care/Palliative Care team. Special thanks to Bunty Anderson for the comfort and strength she brought to Dan and his nuclear family. A memorial service celebrating Dan's life will be held on Monday, August 17, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at John Black Memorial United Church, 898 Henderson Highway. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dan's memory maybe made to the St. Boniface Hospital Research Foundation - CancerCare, D1003-409 Taché Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R2H 2A6. Joy, peace and comfort Daniel. We miss you. We'll miss your warm, witty spirit. You are loved. The Coutu family in care of arrangements: E. J. COUTU CO. FUNERAL DIRECTORS 680 Archibald St. 253-5086
