BRENDA-LEA KRISTEN TULLY (published on September 08, 2009)

BRENDA-LEA KRISTEN TULLY October 13, 1976 - September 3, 2009 God has taken Brenda-Lea home. We thank Him for letting us have her as long as He did. She taught us so much in her shortened lifetime. With broken hearts she leaves her parents, Doug and Irene; brother Brent (Krystal), Jayme and Jordan; brother Blaine (Mhairi), Emma, Aaron, Robert and Ailsa; brother Bryan (Denise), Zane, Paige, Brette and Nate; paternal grandmother Edith Tully, aunts, uncles, cousins, many friends and her two babies, Jewel and Taz. She was predeceased by grandparents, George and Mabel Inverarity, Les Tully and good friend Amie. Brenda-Lea's life was a roller coaster ride of highs and lows and she was the driver as much as possible. She attended Warren Elementary and Warren Collegiate, graduating in 1994 with her original classmates, even though she had missed many weeks and months due to ill health and hospitalizations. Brenda-Lea went on to University of Winnipeg and graduated in 2001 with an Honours BA (Sociology). She volunteered work with the Winnipeg Boys and Girls Club, Klinic and SMD and her resume included work for SMD, ILRC and Web 4 All. Due to more ill health starting in 2005, she was unable to work, but gave wonderful personal counseling for friends and family. Brenda-Lea loved to travel. She visited Mexico, California, British Columbia and several trips to Alberta and Saskatchewan. Through her vast computer knowledge, she had made many friends in Australia, New Zealand and the U.K. Brenda-Lea was artistic, articulate, compassionate, loving, thoughtful, determined and the world's best procrastinator. Her nieces and nephews were her pride and joy. She was faithful to all who knew her and always saw the best in people. Her belief and faith in God was unshakable, so we know she is resting easier with Him. Our Family would like to thank all the Medical personnel from Children's Hospital from 1977 to 1995. A special thanks to Dr. Barry Bermack, who pulled her through 18 years. We have some wonderful memories from those years with all of you. And to H6, MICU and IICU at Health Sciences Centre - You never saw us at our best, but you certainly worked hard to get Brenda-Lea back on track. Dr. Bshouty, Dr. Corne and especially Dr. Giannouli, our heartfelt thanks. You all hold a special spot in our hearts. Brenda-Lea's home care nurses - Thank-you! And finally, to all of Brenda-Lea's self-managed home care attendants - THANK YOU. Independence was so important to Brenda-Lea and through you and by you she was able to achieve that goal. We love you all. Brenda-Lea's journey of life has enriched all our lives by the people we've met - friends we've made. No more pain BLT - just precious memories. A celebration of Brenda-Lea's life will be held at Assiniboine Christian Centre, 3390 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Muscular Dystrophy Association of Canada, 204-825 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB or Children's Hospital, 840 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements.
