LORRAINE JOHANNA SIEMEN November 5, 1946 - September 4, 2009 It is with great sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of our sister and auntie at her residence in Selkirk, with her sister Louella by her side on Friday, September 4, 2009. She lost her courageous battle to cancer. She was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Helen Siemen; a brother Frank; sister Laura; a brother in infancy; brother-in-law Jody March; sister-in-law Bobi Linklater; niece Jessilyn Rae; and nephew Dusty Siemen. Left surviving are her sisters, Louella Bell (Peter), Laverne March, Lena, Lisa Christensen (Jay); brothers, Henry Skip (Brenda), Jake (Louise), George (Bobi), John (Marty) and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Lorraine was born in Selkirk and after completing high school she began her working career at Browns Bread and Selkirk Mental Health Centre. She then went to Red River College and completed her hairdressing course. She worked for Bruno's Hair Salon in Winnipeg and then decided to travel west to Vancouver where she worked for six years at Vancouver General Hospital and from there to Service Canada for 35 years. In 2004 she transferred back to Service Canada's Winnipeg office, retiring in March of 2009 due to her illness. A celebration of her life will be held at the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk on Friday, September 11 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor John Ingalls officiating.
