FLORENT JOUBERT (published on September 08, 2009)

FLORENT JOUBERT 1940 - 2009 Surrounded by the love of his family, Florent passed away at the DeSalaberry District Health Centre in St. Pierre on Friday, September 4, 2009. He will forever be loved by his wife, Lorraine (Lambert), and son Raymond. He leaves to cherish his memory his brothers, Hector (Agnès), Olivier, and Amédée (Rose) and brother-in-law Louis St-Hilaire; his sisters, Aurore Goulet and Lucille Phaneuf (Roger); brothers and sisters-in-law, Georges, Ovide, Sister Irène, snjm, Alma (R. Fortier), Clara (Lionel Carrière), Lucille, Lucienne (L. Goulet); as well as many nephews and nieces. Florent was predeceased by his son Gerald in 1981. He worked 35 years for Greyhound Bus Lines in Calgary until his retirement. He then moved to St. Malo, Manitoba, returning to the area he grew up and loved. Florent's keen sense of humour, his generous nature and outgoing personality enabled him to cultivate life-long friends. He was devoted to his family and contributed selflessly to his community. He enjoyed life to the fullest, always maintaining a positive attitude even in the face of adversity. His strong faith in God and the support of his many close friends and family helped him greatly during his sometimes difficult journey. The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Thursday, September 10 at 11:00 a.m. following prayers at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Malo Catholic Church. Interment of the cremated remains will take place in the parish cemetery following mass. The family wishes to thank the compassionate and dedicated staff of the DeSalaberry District Health Centre, as well as the many friends who, through their prayers and visits, continued to offer support during Florent's illness.
