LOTTIE GOODWILLIE (published on September 26, 2009)



LOTTIE GOODWILLIE (nee GROSSER) June 11, 1925 September 23, 2009 Charlotte Emilie Grosser was born in Steyr, Austria, the only child of Leopold Grosser and Emilie Ruzicka. The family immigrated to Canada in 1927, settling in the North End of Winnipeg. After finishing Grade 10, Lottie took a Secretarial Course and started working for Retail Credit Company where she met her husband George Goodwillie and they married in 1947. There were two children born, Linda and David. Lottie and George made their home in Winnipeg for the first 26 years of their marriage. In 1973, they moved to the Arden Ridge close to Neepawa. Here they spent the next 30 years enjoying country life. In 2003, Lottie moved into Third Crossing Manor in Gladstone due to ill health. Lottie is survived by her daughter Linda (Ken) Otto of Gladstone and her son David of Regina; grandchildren, Joelle Freeborn, Jason (Lina) Cooper, Keith and Karen Otto; great- grandchildren, Kaylee and Blaine Cook and Kyle and Cassidy Cooper; brother-in-law Bill Appleyard, Regina. Lottie was predeceased by her husband George; her great-grandson Brett Cook; her sisters-in-law, Jeanie Appleyard and Mary Goodwillie and brother-in-law John Goodwillie. The family would like to acknowledge the caring staff at Third Crossing Manor. Donations may be made to Gladstone District Library, Box 720, Gladstone, MB, R0J 0T0. Funeral will be on Tuesday, September 29 at 11:00 a.m. at Clarke's Funeral Chapel, Gladstone. Burial will be the same day at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn, 4000 Portage Ave., Winnipeg. Clarke's Funeral Home, Gladstone in care of arrangements.
