LAURENCE BERNADETTE LAMBERT (published on September 26, 2009)

LAURENCE BERNADETTE LAMBERT February 3, 1927 September 23, 2009 With profound sorrow we announce the passing of our mother, Laurence Lambert (née Morin) on September 23, 2009 at the age of 82 years. Mom will be deeply missed by her daughter Carol (George Couture), and her sons, Gerald (Vicki), Richard (Ghislaine), Mark, Marcel (Lorraine) and her 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren and Linda Scott. Mom is survived by her loving sister Jeanine Allaire. She also leaves behind her sisters-in-law, Yvette (Marcel) Audette and Imelda (Leandre) Dupuis, Lucille Morin and many nephews and nieces. She is predeceased by her husband Hector, her daughter Pierrette, her brother Séprien Morin and her sister Denise Preteau. Mom was born to Hormidas and Délima (Rivard) Morin in St. Malo, MB. On November 19, 1947 she married Hector Lambert. They lived and worked in Churchill, MB, Red Lake, ON, Kamloops and Nanaimo, BC and Levis, Quebec while raising five children. Mom was a devoted wife and mother whose main concern was the well being of her children. Mom always had a strong faith in the Lord who was there to lead her through the many good and some of the difficult years. In 1971 after the passing of Hector while living in Quebec, Mom and her children moved back to Winnipeg with the help of her sisters, Jeanine and Denise. A year after returning to Winnipeg, Mom started working in housekeeping at Taché Centre for the next 20 years. She enjoyed working with the residents and staff and made many friends. Mom cherished her weekly Bible studies and services with her friend Larry and the fellowship throughout the years. She enjoyed listening to her religious hymns and reading the Bible. Since 2002 Mom overcame some health obstacles and still enjoyed some wonderful times. In December, 2007, she moved to Le Manoir de la Cathédrale where she enjoyed some of the activities and made many new friends. Mom was a very loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Family was the centre of her life and we were blessed and honoured to share it. She will be missed for her thoughtfulness, kindness, wisdom and the love she shared with her entire family and friends. Mom will live in our hearts forever. We would like to express appreciation to Larry Ades for all the years of fellowship and friendship and for taking Mom to church twice a week. We would also like to thank Linda Scott for her thoughtfulness and for sending Mom poinsettias yearly. The family would like to thank the staff at Le Manoir de la Cathédrale for their kindness and caring manner. We would also like to thank the doctors and nurses at the St. Boniface Hospital, Home Care staff and recently the nurses and the staff at the Concordia Hospital. A memorial service will take place on Monday, September 28 at 10:30 a.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in Laurence's memory may be made to a charity of your choice. The Coutu family in care of arrangements: E. J. Coutu Co. Funeral Directors 680 Archibald St. 253-5086
