JOHN (JACK) WATSON (published on September 29, 2009)

JOHN (JACK) WATSON August 9, 1922 September 26, 2009 Peacefully on Saturday, September 26, 2009, surrounded by his family, Jack passed away at Deer Lodge Centre. Jack is survived by his loving wife Margaret (Peggy) (nee MacLaren); children, Bonnie Wylie, Laurie Watson, Janice (Frank) Janzen, Jackie (Mike) Hatfield, John (Julia) and Rob (Lorelei); sister Jean (Arnold) Klayh; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by mother and father, John and Emma Watson and brother Don Watson. Jack was born in Winnipeg and attended Luxton and St. John's High School. Jack served in RCNVR from 1940 to 1945 and ended service on HMCS Uganda. After that his career included 25 years at CN Express. Jack was a unique character who followed his own path. He was kind, gentle and will be remembered as a man of integrity. The family extends their thanks to the staff of Tower 4 at Deer Lodge Centre for the exceptional care provided to Jack during his stay, making him comfortable and providing support to the family. Donations may be made in Jack's memory to the Alzheimer's Society of Winnipeg, Canadian Cancer Society or Deer Lodge Foundation. The family would like to invite you to join them for a reception at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. on Thursday, October 1, 2009 from 1:00 p.m. till 3:00 p.m. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
