AUGUST CHARLES KRUK It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of August Charles Kruk on September 28, 2009 at the Dauphin Regional Health Centre at the age of 81 years. August was born on November 5, 1927 in Sifton, MB to Karol and Angela (nee Stefishen) Kruk. He received his education at the Sifton School and once completed he worked on the family farm in the Sifton area. He was also employed with the Dauphin-Ochre School Division as a bus driver for 37 years, retiring in 1994 with an accident free record. August always treated his students with a goody bag of treats at Halloween, Christmas and end of school year. He was devoted to his life of farming, driving school bus and especially his children. He also enjoyed going to auction sales. August was predeceased by his parents Karol and Angela, brothers Chris, Stanley, Tony and Walter, sisters Rose Strilchuk and Helen Brayko. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Donald of Winnipeg, MB, Marita Kruk of Winnipeg, MB, and Terry of Winnipeg, MB, mother of his children Helen Kruk of Dauphin, brother Joe and wife Lucy of Dauphin, sisters-in-law Lena of Dauphin and Mary Kruk of Dauphin. Thank you to Dr. S. Lofgren, nurses and staff at the Dauphin Regional Health Centre for all of their kindness and concern shown to August over the years. Prayers for August were held on Thursday, October 1, 2009 from the Riverside Evergreen Chapel in Dauphin with Laverne Hudson as prayer leader. Funeral services were Friday, October 2, 2009 from the Riverside Evergreen Chapel and Fr. Yolando Gamallo officiated, interment followed in the Riverside Cemetery in Dauphin. Pallbearers were Martin Yakielashek, Tom Yakieliashek, Sheldon Kruk, Gerald Wellborn, Alfred Babee and Dennis Strilchuk.
