He was predeceased by his parents, Ben and Caroline Michaleski and father-in-law Michael Andrieshyn. Orv began work at the age of 17 at CN Telecommunications as a telegraph clerk and continued with the company as an Installation Technician after completing a course in Electronics in the mid 1970s. He retired after 39 years of service. Orv was an avid golfer and student of the game. Some of his greatest enjoyment was derived from helping others perfect their games. Over the years, he was a member at Elmhurst, Selkirk and lastly Larter's at St. Andrews. He was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed his season tickets for the Selkirk Steelers. Another of Orv's passions was music; he especially loved the Do Wop programs on PBS. Orv was a loving husband and father who took tremendous pride in his children, Jodi and Dave and their various accomplishments in life. He was a warm and loving Grampy and a good friend who was always willing to lend a hand. He had a great sense of humour and loved a good joke. He enjoyed meeting new people and learning all about them. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. The family would like to thank the caring and skilled doctors and nurses on the MSICU at St. Boniface Hospital, as well as the doctors and nurses on E5, especially nurse angel Kim who helped us through the last hours. In keeping with Orv's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no formal service.
