CHRISTINA MARGARET LEWTHWAITE (published on October 14, 2009)

CHRISTINA MARGARET LEWTHWAITE (nee BROWNLEE) 1917 - 2009 After a long and full life Chrissie died on Monday, October 12 at the age of 92 in the Redvers Centennial Haven, Redvers, SK. Chrissie was the youngest daughter of David and Evelyn Brownlee of Sinclair, MB. She was one of eight children and was predeceased by brothers, David, Rankin and Cecil; and sisters, Anna, Beatrice and Jean. She is survived by her brother Archie (Sheila) Brownlee of Copper Cliff, ON and sister-in-law Helen Brownlee of Brandon, MB. Chrissie married John (Peck) Lewthwaite in 1945. They spent their married years in Redvers, coupled with summers spent with family and friends at White Bear Lake. Chrissie and John had three boys: David of Devon, AB, Robert (Bob) of Redvers and Brian (Clara) of Winnipeg, MB. During their married years they owned and operated a local car dealership and bus transport company. They always had time for family and friends, especially enjoying singalongs around the piano or organ. After Peck's death in 1977, Chrissie continued to work at the Redvers Centennial Haven. She made many trips to visit family and friends, including three trips to New Zealand to visit her granddaughters, Kimberly and Rhea. Family and friends are left with fond memories of a very sociable, positive and supportive woman. She treasured her many friendships and her faith in her abiding God. She encourages us in her passing, to not be judging of others and, instead, to bless others through action and deed. A sincere thanks to all the staff at the Redvers Centennial Haven that attended to Chrissie so well and in so many ways over the past seven years. We, as a family, greatly appreciate your care and concern. A memorial service for Chrissie will be held in Knox United Church, Redvers, on Wednesday, October 14 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, friends may wish to donate in Chrissie's memory to the Redvers Activity Centre, Redvers, SK, S0C 2H0. Messages of condolence may be forwarded to the family by visiting www.hallfuneralservices.ca Chrissie's Note-to-self', August 1968: I make the decision to accept life as it comes, promising me comfort and freedom from worry. We are in God's care and my life is God's. This life is God's most precious gift to me. I will relax and trust that God is accompanying me through every experience today. I will love and live life for better or worse without condition. Chrissie Lewthwaite Arrangements entrusted to Hall Funeral Services, Redvers, SK, (306) 452-6020
