MARY BACHINSKY (published on October 14, 2009)

MARY BACHINSKY (nee Pitsaniuk) Peacefully, on Friday, October 9, 2009 Mary passed away at the Sharon Home at the age of 92 years. Mary leaves to cherish her memories, her children Pat and Anthony Bestick and Vincent and Lorraine Taraska, six grandchildren and their spouses, ten great-grandchildren and her two sisters Stephanie and Ollie as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mary was the most loving and giving person. She helped anybody and everybody - family and strangers alike. After the early passing of her husband Peter, Mary gladly and cheerfully tended to her grandchildren. She spent many hours making perogies, pyrushku, donuts and cookies (YUM! Sugar Cookies!), knitted, crocheted, embroidered (especially Ukrainian blouses) and other crafts. These things were also made for her extended family, church and community clubs. From 1948 to 1950, Mary and her husband Peter volunteered enormous amounts of hours as pioneers of Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church on Marion Street. The family wishes to thank the Sharon Home staff (especially Betty and Brenda), Msgr. Louis McCloskey and Father Darrin Gurr and the Eucharistic ministers (Lynn and Monique) from St. Gianna's Parish for their care and compassion. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, October 15 at 12:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church, 4588 Roblin Blvd. Viewing will begin at 11:30 a.m. until time of mass. Reception will follow the mass and burial will take place in the La Broquerie Ukrainian Cemetery later in the afternoon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one's choice. Family and friends are invited to sign the Book of Condolences at Vichnaya Pamyat We love you mom, grandma B DESJARDINS 233-4949 1-888-233-4949
