LORETO F. SARMIENTO 1948 - 2009 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Loreto Sarmiento, aged 61, on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at the Deer Lodge Centre. He is survived by brother Edgar (Belen), sisters Mila (Ramon) and Evelyn (Renato) of Philippines. Loreto was born in the Philippines and immigrated to Canada in 1976. He studied fine arts and graduated from the University of Santo Tomas in the Philippines where he had majored in advertising. He furthered his education at Red River Community College where he had obtained a certificate in Graphic Design. Prior to the tragic turn of events, he was employed as a graphics designer with All Canadian Emblem for 21 years before succumbing to his illness in 1997.
