HELEN MARGARET DRYLICK (published on October 24, 2009)

HELEN MARGARET DRYLICK January 13, 1941 October 18, 2009 On Sunday morning, October 18, 2009 with Robin and Cheryl at her side, Mom left this world to be with her loving husband Harry, who predeceased her in 1996. Mom is survived by her daughter Robin (Cheryl); son Raymond (Sonya); grandsons, Tyler, Kyle and Matthew; stepdaughters, Diana, Debbie and families. Also left to cherish her memory are her siblings, John, Betty, Ruth, Jeanette, David, Kaye, Judy, Carol, Brenda, Michael, Frederick and Robert and their families; as well as the Boone and Bonne families. Mom was predeceased by her parents, John MacDonald and Margaret Dove; sisters, Patricia in 1949 and Linda in 2008. Mom moved to Winnipeg as a result of her illness and dearly missed all of her friends in Ashern, Manitoba. Thank you to all those who called or came to visit Mom, while in the city. Phone calls and visits always brightened her day. Mom was limited to what she could do in the past couple of months. Watching TV became her entertainment, never missing any episode of a police or detective drama. The on-going joke was she was trying to figure out the perfect plan to get rid of her kid who was merciless in making sure she took her medication. Throughout her battle Mom was a trooper. If she was in pain, she would never tell. Even during this phase of her life, her first concern was still of her daughter and not wanting her to worry. The family would like to thank Mom's special sisters, Kaye and Ruth for visiting her often and sharing stories of their youth. Uncle John was the brunt of one of Mom's jokes, when he fell into the outhouse pit at the age of five. Apparently Mom told him to use the adult side and he fell in. The joke ended when Mom realized it was her that would have to clean John up. The family would also like to thank all those individuals of the Palliative Care, Home Care and Respite Care Programs, as well as the firefighters, paramedics and emergency staff at Seven Oaks Hospital in their efforts to help Mom. Mom, you will be missed more than you know. Not a day went by without you telling me how much you love me. I remember as a child you and I would sit outside on the steps and by the distance of the stars you would say that's how much I love you . To the stars infinitely Mom is how much I love you too. A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at the Anderson Family Funeral Home, 9 Railway Avenue, Ashern, Manitoba with Pastor Bruce Zinken officiating. Interment will take place at a later date. Arrangements Entrusted To ANDERSON FAMILY FUNERAL HOME Ashern, Manitoba 1-204-768-3606
