DORIS JOSE DOPSON (published on October 31, 2009)



DORIS JOSE DOPSON (nee WHITE) It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Doris Jose Dopson following a lengthy illness on October 28, 2009 at the Riverview Health Centre at the age of 90. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her children, Trevor Dopson (Carolynn), Tanys Dopson; grandchildren Shane (Cindy) Dopson, Andrea Thomson, Amber (Tyler) Hoskins-Hornung; great grandchildren Connor Thomson, James Lane, Lochlan and Tristan Dopson. Doris was predeceased by her husband Milo, brothers Ted and Doug White and sister Verda Thompson. Doris was born in Zealandia, SK May 23, 1919 and spent her early years on the family farm in Zealandia. She along with her family moved to North Vancouver, where she attended school. She graduated from business school and moved to Ottawa, where she worked at the Bureau of Vital Statistics. She met and married the love of her life Milo Dopson and along with her husband and two children, Trevor and Tanys spent two years in Germany and various Canadian cities, eventually settling down in Winnipeg, as Milo was a member of the Canadian Armed Forces. She was an active member of Donnelly United Church for many years and was a very generous and caring lady, who loved her family dearly. Doris will be sadly missed by her family and all who knew her. The family would like to give thank to the caring and wonderful staff of Riverview Palliative care and Dr. Garcia and Dr. McClure. A service of remembrance in celebration of Doris will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 5, 2009 at 100 Adamar Road, Second Floor with Hugo Unruh officiating.
