RUTH ARLENE MUSACK (published on December 15, 2009)

RUTH ARLENE MUSACK (nee MUNN) September 13, 1926 - December 12, 2009 After a short illness Ruth Musack passed away at the Gimli Hospital with her family by her side. Ruth was born in Stratton, Ontario. She was raised on a farm with eight brothers and sisters in Emo, Ontario. At the age of 15 she moved to Winnipeg and began working at the Christie Cookie Factory. Ruth met her husband Don Musack at a Christmas Dance and 10 weeks later they were married on February 10, 1943. This marriage lasted almost 60 years before her husband predeceased her in July, 2002. During her marriage to Don they lived for 27 years in Toronto, Ontario before moving to Winnipeg for a few years, and retired in Gimli, MB at Shorepoint Village. They moved to the Water Front Condos in 2000. In July 2009 Ruth moved to the Betel Nursing Home in Gimli, Manitoba. An adopted son George predeceased her in 1979, and a granddaughter in 1981. During her time in Gimli she worked as a homecare worker for 15 years, and kitchen helper for the New Horizon for 10 years. Ruth leaves to mourn her passing Neva St. Dennis (partner Teval), Doreen (Jim) Millichamp, Larry (Sharon) Musack, Rose Marie (Gerald) Mavael, Kirk Musack, nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Brothers Kenneth Munn, George (Diane) Munn; sisters Ruby (Garnet) Tait, Gladys Nelson, Marilyn Torgerson. In accordance to her wishes cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Ruth's life will be held on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at the Lakeside Church of God, on Hwy #9 in Gimli, MB with Pastor Abe Harder officiating. A special thanks to the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital, Gimli Hospital and Betel Nursing Home. Donations can be sent in lieu of flowers to Betel Nursing Home.
