JEFFREY MALCOLM (published on December 19, 2009)

JEFFREY MALCOLM It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden death of our son Jeffrey Ross Malcolm at home on Saturday, December 12, 2009. Jeff is survived by his loving parents; Ross and Kathy, his brother James (Heather and Sarah), Grandmother Helen, Aunt Shelagh (Larry) Russell, Uncle Christopher Hodgson (Pam), Aunt Lesley (Ken) Neufeld and cousins. Jeff will be remembered for his great love of sports, especially hockey and football. In his teens Jeff played goal for AAA hockey and midfield for South End United Premier Soccer until an injury ended his career. Sundays were known as Football Sunday where he avidly followed the Minnesota Vikings, making an annual trip to Minneapolis in support of the Vikes. His love of music encompassed all forms from Jazz and Classical to Rock. His favourite band was U2 and he had the opportunity to travel and attend their concerts on eight different occasions. Jeff was a kind-hearted person who valued the bond between his family, friends and co-workers. His life personified everything that was good and decent. He worked for the past several years at Perfect Placement where his dedication to his work was unparalleled. These past few days we have shed many tears and we will always miss him. Our tears are not of despair and bitterness but rather tears of pride and satisfaction that God has blessed us with a wonderful son and has chosen to take him at this special time of year. We have no hesitation to wish all of Jeff's family and friends a wonderful holiday. We would like to express our deepest gratitude to the Gimli Paramedics who worked so valiantly to try to save his life, to the constables of the Gimli detachment of the R.C.M.P. who provided support and comfort and the Volunteer Firefighters who responded on such a cold night. It was Jeff's wish that no formal funeral service be held. There will be a memorial service at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Siloam Mission in Jeff's honour. Rest in Peace, Jeff NEIL BARDAL INC. (204) 949-2200 Gimli - 642-7124
