EDERLINDA CARINO Peacefully, following a lengthy illness, Ederlinda Carino (nee Nicanor) passed away on December 14, 2009 at the age of 58. Ederlinda will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband Renerio, children Gary (Kristine), Marjorie (Elves), stepdaughter Catherine (Henry), grandchildren Avery, Vienna, Samaire, step grandchildren, Nya, E.J., Alex, and Andi, mother Maria, brothers and sisters; Leonilo (Irma), Yolanda, Edna (Godofredo), Hilaria (Ruben), Brother and sisters-in-law Romeo, Andres (Charrie), Merlita (Dino), Anita (Joel), nieces and nephews; Leo (Marianne), Mutya, Isreal (Che-Che), Tisoy, Mavic, Randy (Grace), Michael (Rowena), Nadine (Dino), Aries (Maricel), Melissa, Jun-Jun, Edwin (Kristel), Gino, Gio, Matthew, Tristan, Rolette (Marlon), Noemi (Patrick), Amorfina, Rommel, Chandy, Jason, Christopher, Dennis, Justin, Jensen, Jonathan, Jeffrey and many more family and friends throughout Canada, Philippines, United States, Germany, and New Zealand. She was predeceased by her father Ludovico, brother Lerico, sister Lourdes, grandparents Pedro, Francisca, Hilario, Elena, brother-in-law Benjamin, father and mother-in-law Hilario, Marciana and sisters-in-law Letecia, Norma. Ederlinda was born in Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro Philippines on January 28, 1951 to Maria and Ludovico Nicanor and was a sibling to Leonilo, Yolanda, Edna and Hilaria. She moved to Winnipeg in 1974 as a recruit of Silpit Industries and worked in their garment factory as a sewing machine operator. She went back to the Philippines to marry her boyfriend Renerio. They got married January 14, 1976 started their family with a son, daughter and stepdaughter. She also worked at St. Norbert Nursing Home which she received her certificate as Health Care Aide and lately with Rosewood Village Retirement Home and was very proud of what she did, earning a lot of friends and rewards as a dedicated and long time employee. Ederlinda always put the needs of others before herself and her greatest joy came from her seven grandchildren, she was so proud of all of them, always making time to celebrate their birthdays at home with her gifted cooking expertise of homemade delicious recipes of all type of food and cookies. She found great pleasure in decorating and gardening and always made sure her home was tidy. Lamay will be held on Monday and Tuesday December 21 and 22 from 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. Mass will be held at 12:00 p.m. on December 23 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 255 Stafford with Father Joe Newman officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Ave. Reception will follow at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. The family would like to thank all the CancerCare Nurses and 7a West Nurses at St. Boniface Hospital, Denise Campbell, Dr. J. Gingerich, Dr. C. Andrew, Dr. M. Garcia, Dr. T. Hiebert and all of the family and friends that came to support Ederlinda throughout this tough year.
