GEORGE KITCHENER MOTYER Peacefully in his sleep, George Kitchener Motyer passed away December 7, 2009 at the age of 94. He leaves to mourn his wife Thelma of almost 60 years. Daughter Barbara (Terry) of Winnipeg, granddaughter Coral, and great granddaughter Elana of B.C., son James (Sara) of Calgary, AB, their children Tobie, Dana and Joelle. Daughter-in-law Joyce, widow of son Barry of California, and their children and grandchildren. Niece Judy Lang (Terry) of Winnipeg and nephew Brian Armstrong of Toronto and their families. George is survived by his sister Muriel (Knipfel) of Summerland, B.C. and brother Jack of Winnipeg and their families. George served with the Canadian Navy, Stationed in Kamloops, B.C; after which he joined the insurance business and retired in 1987. He was kind, generous, funny and very determined. He loved his family and friends and was loved in return. He loved children, animals, golf, cribbage and politics. He was an avid reader until his vision deteriorated. Special thanks to Dr. Brian Sharkey who supported and cared for George for 25 years. Respecting George's wishes, there will be no service, cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life is planned for a later date. |
