NATALIE (TILLIE) YANKE (published on December 26, 2009)

NATALIE (TILLIE) YANKE It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Natalie, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother at the Ashern Personal Care Home on December 22, 2009. Mom was born October 25, 1916 in Grahamdale, MB, the second eldest daughter of Martin and Louise Stebner. Mom and Dad were married September 4, 1937 and farmed in many areas from Eriksdale to Grahamdale. Mom enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking. Mom's greatest joy in life was her family. We all looked forward to the great Christmas and Easter dinners she prepared for us in love. Mom also enjoyed knitting and would knit socks and mittens for her whole family at Christmas. We find comfort in knowing that Mom will be greeted by her late husband Fred Yanke; her parents Martin and Louise Stebner; her children Joyce and Marvin in infancy, sons-in-law Paul Kernested and Don Russell; granddaughter Arlene Nightingale; her sisters Olga, Ida, Wanda, Lydia and Edith; brothers-in-law Henry Newman, Ferdy Newman, Henry Weins and Albert Weigelt; in-laws Helen and Henry Pascoe, Tillie and Gus Zutz, Martha and Charlie Kiesman, August and Mabel Yanke, Herbie Kiesman, Bill Felbel, Dan Rawluk, Dick and Olga Wareing, Art Townsend and Art Yanke. Mom will be remembered by her four daughters Marion, Dorothy (Bill), Shirley, Linda (Lorne) and son Larry (Ruth Ellen); 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters Alice, Martha, Freda and Marion (Bernard); brother Martin (Bernice) and brother-in-law Herbie, in-laws Ida Kiesman, Annie and Leo Koch, Alma Felbel, Elsie Rawluk, Willie and Leona Yanke, Esther Townsend, Charlie and Joyce Yanke and Helen Yanke, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, December 27, 2009 at the Grace Lutheran Church in Ashern, MB with Pastor Gary Russell officiating. Interment to follow in the Grace Lutheran Cemetery. Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. A very special thank you to the Ashern Personal Care Home workers and doctors and staff for being extremely kind and caring to our mother. We would also like to thank Liz Altman for her love and care she gave mom. Also thanks to Arnason Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Grace Lutheran Church, PO Box 240, Ashern, MB R0C 0E0 or to the Ashern Personal Care Home, PO Box 110, Ashern, MB R0C 0E0 or to a charity of one's choice.
