HARRY MALCOWICH (published on December 28, 2009)

HARRY MALCOWICH 1921 - 2009 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Harry Malcowich on December 22, 2009 at the age of 88 years. He will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his wife of 51 years, Olga; his daughter Brenda Peloquin (Ron); son Brad (Karen); beloved granddaughters Emily and Heavyn; special girls Lisa and Chantel and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Dan and Elizabeth; brothers William, Walter and infant brother Nicholas. Harry will be greatly missed by his sisters Lovey Kuryk (John), Augustine Konopetcki (Eddie); brothers Steven (Joanne), and Freddie (Shirley). Harry was born on May 4, 1921 in Fisher Branch, MB and embraced life wholeheartedly. Retirement wasn't in his vocabulary. Harry ran his own trucking business Harry's Freighter's for many years and after it was sold, moved on to owning a gas station, then an Autopac repair outlet, finally settling into making golf clubs out of his home. He was a passionate community man who was president of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church as well as president of the Ukrainian National Home. He was proud to be a life member of the Knights of Columbus and was an avid sports fan, golfer and baseball player. His baseball team, the Fisher Falcons, were inducted into the Manitoba Baseball Hall of Fame in June, 2007. Harry loved the company of his family and friends, a good cigar and his Cadillac. The family would like to thank the local Emergency response team for all of their efforts. Special thanks to Michelle and Laurie. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Fisher Branch, MB at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery. Goodbye my family, my life is past. I loved you all to the very last. Weep not for me, but courage take, Love each other, for my sake. For those you love don't go away. They walk beside you Every day. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Fisher Personal Care Home. WHAT WILL BE WILL BE FISHER FUNERAL HOME INC. In care of arrangements. Fisher Branch, MB (204) 372-6271 or 372-6803
