SHIRLEY PACKER It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved wife, mother and grandmother Shirley Packer, on December 25, 2009, peacefully, with her husband by her side. Shirley was predeceased by her parents, Samuel and Ethel Daien and her beloved brother Larry Daien. Shirley will be lovingly remembered and cherished by her husband Arnold of 53 years. She was a devoted mother and mother-in-law of Cheryl Waterman and Ken Waterman, Mindy and Brad Bloom and Martin and Michelle Packer. The adored Baba of Dana (Brad) Mederski, Kyle and Kira Waterman, Jason and Jonathan Bloom and Justin Packer. She will also be fondly remembered by sister-in-law Kalla Daien, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Howard and Eileen Packer, nieces and nephews, numerous family members and many treasured friends and neighbours. Baba's pride and joy were her children and grandchildren, always showering them with love and affection. She also adored her kitties and grandkitties, her love for animals never faltered. Shirley devoted nearly 30 years of her life to the volunteer services of Seven Oaks General Hospital. Her selflessness and constant generosity never went unrecognized; she will be remembered for her warm smile and kindness. She will be forever loved and remembered by all those whose lives she touched. A service honouring Shirley's life was held on December 31, 2009 at Chesed Shel Emes, officiated by Cantor Gerry Daien. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Winnipeg Humane Society, The Jewish Foundation of Winnipeg, or the charity of one's choice. To us she was someone special, Someone set apart, Her memory will live forever, Engraved within our hearts. |
