BERNARD JOSEPH EWASKO (published on January 02, 2010)

BERNARD JOSEPH EWASKO It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our Beloved Father, Loving Husband, Brother, Grandfather and Friend. Bernard passed away peacefully at the Beausejour District Hospital on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at the age of 65 years. Remaining to forever cherish Bernard's memory are his wife Adeline, of 40 years of marriage; children, Crystal Reske (Richard), Vincent (Tracie), Florence Sadkowski (Wes), and David; and his pride and joy, granddaughter Natasha Ewasko; sister, Gertie Shack (John); brothers, Al (Sharon), Gabe and Ray; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents Mike and Pauline. On June 11, 1944, Bernie was born in Beausejour where he lived on his family farm. Dad worked various jobs to save enough money to purchase his own farm in Cloverleaf where he established the Family Dairy with his wife and children. Bernie farmed with the love of his life Adeline until his untimely death. Dad enjoyed his time spent with his cousins in his youth. He enjoyed the Simple Things in life. Farming was his life. Dad appreciated working along side his brother Gabe on the farm for the last few years. He loved Going to Auction Sales and getting that great deal. Dad also enjoyed Picking Blueberries. Family gatherings were always treasured; he had a great sense of humour and would make light of any situation. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 4, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, 530 Atlantic Avenue off 3rd Street South, Beausejour, Manitoba, with Rev. Fr. Owen Steeves, presiding. Interment will follow in the Eastdale Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dad's siblings and his two sons-in-law, Gertie Shack, Al Ewasko, Gabe Ewasko, Ray Ewasko, Richard Reske and Wes Sadkowski. We wish to express our thanks to the staff at Beausejour Hospital. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made in Dad's memory to the Eastdale Cemetery, Box 826, RR1, Anola, Manitoba R0E 0A0.
