ASTON ROY (ANDY) ANDERSON (published on January 02, 2010)



ASTON ROY (ANDY) ANDERSON Following a short fight against Amyloidosis, Aston Roy Anderson (Andy) of Winnipeg, died peacefully with his family by his side, on Friday, December 25, 2009 in the Riverview Health Centre at the age of 71 years. Aston was born in Portland, Jamaica on March 16, 1938 to Cecil and Florence Anderson. Aston immigrated to Canada in 1976 where he made numerous friends. Aston was sociable and was known for his distinct laughter, cooking (especially soup) and love for fishing and reggae music. Aston will be greatly missed by all those that loved and knew him. Aston was survived by his wife Lynn and their children: Donna, Desmond (Mark), Billy, Lorna, Donnett and Sonia; grandchildren, Ihsan, IsMail (pookie), Marcus, Dominique, Jenell, Kisha, Zahir, Niko, Phoenix and Josh; brother Randolph Anderson of Jamaica; sister-in-law Faithlynn and numerous nieces and nephews. In memory of Astons' life, a wake will be begin at 5:00 pm. Saturday, January 2, 2010 at 32 Worthington Avenue. Friends are invited to visit at anytime throughout the evening. Viewing will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 7, 2010 at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook Street. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 8, 2010 in the Calvary Temple Buntain Chapel, 400 Hargrave Street with Pastor Bruce Martin officiating. Interment will be in St. Vital Cemetery following a reception in the church. The family extends special thanks to the doctors and staff on 3 East at the Riverview Health Centre.
