SHIRLEY SYLVIA FIELD (published on January 06, 2010)

SHIRLEY SYLVIA FIELD (nee STANLEE) 1928 - 2010 With deep sadness and heavy hearts, we announce our beloved mom passed away on January 3, 2010 at the Grace Hospital at the age of 81 years. Shirley was predeceased by her parents Paul and Justine Stanlee, her brother-in-law Walt McLachlan and her son-in-law Brian Pearson. Shirley will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 62 years, Peter, daughters Lynda Will of Winnipeg and Sandy Pearson of Toronto; grandchildren Janine Gervais (Jay Owen) and Jacqueline Gervais-Jones all of Toronto; Jarred (Tina) Gervais of Winnipeg and her precious great-granddaughter Charlotte Jones; sister and best friend, Sonia McLachlan; nieces and nephews, Wendy (Lenn) Samborski, Greg (Tammy) McLachlan, Karen and Glenn McLachlan and numerous great-nieces, nephews and great-great nephews. Shirley was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother who worked hard her whole life. She never knew how to sit still and had to be doing something all the time. She took great pride in her home and in the many accomplishments of her family. She easily made friends and was a graceful, caring and generous person. Mom was meticulous in her appearance and had a great sense of style - always buying the latest fad. Her happiest moments were spent in the kitchen making perogies for her family or out shopping with her grandchildren. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the firefighters first responders from Station 12, paramedics from Station 36 and the doctors and nurses in the ICU at Grace Hospital. Your amazing efforts gave us several more days to have Mom with us. In keeping with Mom's wishes, a private family gathering will take place to honour and celebrate her. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mom's memory may be made to the Diabetes Foundation of Manitoba or the Heart Stroke Foundation of Manitoba. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
