RITA HEBERT (published on January 06, 2010)

RITA HEBERT (nee PERRON) May 7, 1929 - January 3, 2010 It is with great sorrow that we announce the loss of our mother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, mémère (grandmother), great-grandmother, and friend. Left to cherish in her memory are her daughters, Louise Hébert, Paulette Théberge (Raymond), Margo Hébert, Hélène Epp, Jacqueline Rey (Art); grandchildren, Danielle, Keith, Chantale, Julie, Stéfan (Tasha), Dany, Mathieu, Mélanie, and Christian, and great-grandchildren Brayden and Talia. She also leaves to mourn her sister Georgette Dragan (Jerry), sister-in-law Margaret Ward and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Louis Aimé Hébert, parents Roméo Perron and Yvonne (née Brunet), and brother Raymond Perron. Rita will be remembered for her sharp wit, being there for her family and friends, her loving heart, and yes...she had spunk! Rita insisted on remaining in the family home on Riverbend Avenue which she built with Aimé in the early 1950s. She eventually moved to Résidence Despins in January, 2008 and recently to Beacon Hill and to Foyer Valade as her challenges with illness (Alzheimer's) increased. Thank you to the caregivers at the residences and to the Staff at the Victoria Hospital who cared for her in her last week with us. Prayers will be said at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 7 at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons Street. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 8, 2010 at St. Eugene Roman Catholic Church, 1007 St. Mary's Road. Interment at Green Acres Cemetery will follow the reception. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 10 - 120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 9Z9 or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
