ELEANOR AGNES JANE AMY (nee FARDOE) Peacefully on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 Eleanor Amy formerly of Argyle and Stonewall passed away at Red River Place in Selkirk. She is survived by her daughter Eleanor; daughter-in-law Helen (Basil); grandchildren Doug (Kristine), David (Tracy), Judy (Paul), Derrick (Amanda), Heather (David) and Nicole (Neil); 11 great-grandchildren; sisters Nell Dodd and Ann Peabody; sister-in-law Gwen Amy. Predeceased by her husband Tom, son Clifford and son-in-law Alfred. Eleanor was born in Winnipeg on June 8, 1921, the eldest daughter of Frank and Eleanor Fardoe. The family moved to Ridgeway, MB and there she met Thomas Clifford Amy. They were married on November 8, 1941. Upon his return from overseas, Tom and Eleanor farmed in the Argyle District for many years until their move to Stonewall in 1998. Eleanor had resided at Red River Place in Selkirk for the last seven years. Mom was active in the community; she was a member of The Ladies Auxiliary Brant Argyle Legion #22. Later she joined the Stonewall Branch where she received her 50th year anniversary pin. Eleanor was also a member of Ladies Group at St. John's Brant Church. She could always be found canning and freezing or cooking and baking for her family and friends as well as for church functions. She enjoyed several years in Weslaco, Texas with her husband Tom where many new lasting friendships were made. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 9 at 2:00 p.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall. Rev. James Bardsley will officiate.
