GUY URBAIN ENCONTRE (published on January 07, 2010)

GUY URBAIN ENCONTRE It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Dad, at the age of 75 years, passed away on Monday, January 4, 2010, after a long illness. Dad leaves his wife of 52 years, Cecile (Dandeneau), six children, Lucie (Don), Denis (Lise), Rene (Cory), Gisele (Walter), Estelle (Ken), and Anita (Michael), sister Louise Gobin, 13 grand children and six great-grandchildren to cherish his many memories. Predeceased by his parents Mary Anne and Jules, brothers and sisters Evelyne, Dora, Cecile, Paul, Peter, and Blanche. Dad was born on August 29, 1934 in St. Lupicin, Manitoba. He was the youngest of nine children. In 1957 he met and married mom after a brief courtship and raised six loving children. He started his drilling business in 1961 when they moved to Fisher Branch. Eight years later the family moved to Ile Des Chenes and together they continued Guy's Drilling Services. Dad retired in 1993 and he and Mom moved to Winnipeg where he spent his remaining years traveling, walking to Tim Horton's for morning coffee and tinkering in the garage. The family would like to thank all his good friends and family for their support and friendship during his illness. A special thanks goes out to the 3rd floor staff at Foyer Valade for their compassionate care and always making him smile. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dad's memory to the Stroke Recovery Association of Manitoba at Unit B, 247 Provencher Blvd., Winnipeg, R2H 0G6. A memorial service will be celebrated on Saturday, January 9, 2010 at St. Bernadette Parish, 820 Cottonwood Rd., Winnipeg. Viewing from 10.30 a.m. - 11.00 a.m. Service will commence at 11.00 a.m. Reception to follow. Cremation and interment will take place at a later date. We will miss you Dad. LECLAIRE BROTHERS in care of arrangements. 775-2220
