TIMOTHY PETER KLIPPENSTEIN (published on January 09, 2010)



TIMOTHY PETER KLIPPENSTEIN Tim Klippenstein, 63, dearly beloved husband of Ruth and father of Paul and Peter, died suddenly on January 5, 2010. Mourning his loss are three siblings, Sam (Judy), Susan (Peter), and David (Janice), two aunts, and many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Also grieving are his mother-in-law, Agnes Koop, and Ruth's brothers, David (Dolores), Wilmer (Elenore) and Art (Christine), with their children. He was predeceased by his parents and two nieces. Tim was born in Winkler, Manitoba on October 29, 1946, the fourth child of Bernhard D. and Sara Voth Klippenstein. He lived in Southern Manitoba, moving to Winnipeg, then Toronto for his education. After their marriage in 1974, he and Ruth spent three years with M.C.C. in Botswana, an experience that influenced the rest of his life. Tim's passions were mathematics, music, fitness, travel, languages, the environment, peace, social justice, his family and God. His strong Christian commitment led to a lifetime of service to others in the church and community. Viewing will take place on Sunday, January 10 at Friends Funeral Services, 2146 Main Street, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Service is on Monday, January 11 at 10:30 a.m. at Portage Avenue Church, 1420 Portage Avenue. If friends desire, donations may be made to Mennonite Central Committee, MEDA or MBMSI.
