KENNETH BRUCE BEAUCHEMIN (published on January 12, 2010)



KENNETH BRUCE BEAUCHEMIN With deepest sorrow we announce that suddenly on Friday, January 8, 2010 at the age of 60, surrounded by his loving family, our father Ken passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital. Left to mourn his untimely passing are his children Maren (Harry) Klochko, Tamara, and Devon (Alex), grandchildren Austin, Taylor, Reeve, Hannah, Adam and Brody. Also left to mourn is his father Mickey and Phyllis Beauchemin of Gimli, sisters Diane (Stewart) Butt of Vancouver, Karen (Larry) Gottfried of Gimli, Debbie (Adrian) Meilleur, Linda Walker (Dave), Don (Susan) Walker all of Winnipeg, father-in-law Alfred Hartfil and sisters and brothers-in-law Ella Wiebe of Calgary, Lora (Fred) Bobrovich, Susie (Gary) Stevenson and Alfred Hartfil (Bim) of Gimli, Raymond (Mary) Isfeld of Winnipeg Beach, and his lifelong friend Gordon Sawa. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Ken was predeceased by his wife Lotte in 2001, his mother Anne, sisters Sharon Isfeld and Barbara Tilley, mother-in-law Hilda Hartfil, brother-in-law Abe Wiebe, and niece Karen Wiebe. Ken was born in Gimli on January 23, 1949. He received his education in Gimli and moved to Winnipeg. When he moved back home he worked at Johnson Memorial Hospital until his retirement in 2009. In 1978 Kenny met and married Lotte Hartfil. Together they raised three wonderful children and had six grandchildren, who were his pride and joy. He was an avid sportsman, hunter, snowmobiler and Harley rider. He also volunteered for the Gimli and District Fire Department and the Gimli Ambulance Service. Special thanks to the Gimli Paramedic Unit and staff of Gimli and St. Boniface Hospitals. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 15, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in the Gimli Lutheran Church, with Pastor Dave Lowe officiating. Family gratefully declines flowers. A donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Diabetes Association in Kenny's name would be greatly appreciated. Gilbart Funeral Home, Gimli in care of arrangements.
