DOROTHY ANNETTE DENYER (published on January 16, 2010)

DOROTHY ANNETTE DENYER (nee Ames) December 28, 1921 - December 29, 2009 It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing away of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Dorothy was a longtime resident of Langley, BC, recently living at Brookside Lodge where she peacefully passed away. Dorothy was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba and graduated from Gordon Bell High School and Success Business School. She was a secretary for the Fort Garry School Board for a number of years and Surrey and Langley School Boards for 12 years, retiring in 1986. Dorothy was secretary for the B.C. Quarter Horse Association for many years. Dorothy was predeceased by her mother and father, Cheston and Jim Ames, also, her sister Rose and brother Jim. Dorothy was the beloved wife of Douglas Denyer for over 67 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Doug (Donette), Ray (Pam), her sister Peggy, her grandchildren, Ginalyn, Melanie, Doug, Nicole and Lisa, her great-grandchildren Chelsea, Maddisen, Mackenzie and Kale. Dorothy will also be lovingly remembered by her many nieces and nephews, along with countless friends who were all blessed too know her. Dorothy loved her golf and horses, and laughing with her friends and family. She touched the lives of many people with her smile and generosity. She maintained her trademark sense of humour all the way to the end. We would like to take this time to thank the staff at Brookside Lodge for their care and support. Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Henderson's Funeral Home 20788, Fraser Highway, Langley, BC. The family requests in lieu of flowers a donation in Dorothy's name could be made to the Alzheimer's Society of BC, 203B - 10 East Pender Street, Vancouver, BC.
