KURTIS SHAWN COCHRANE (published on January 16, 2010)



KURTIS SHAWN COCHRANE 1981 - 2010 It is with great sadness and heartbreak that we announce the tragic and sudden passing of Kurtis Cochrane on January 13, 2010 at the age of 28 years. Left to cherish his memory is his only son, three year old Dylan; his parents, David and Beverly Cochrane; his grandmother Rachel Anderson; his brothers, Kevin (Bev) and Keith (Lori); nieces and nephews, Kaitlyn, Amber, David, Jeremy and Lucas. Also left to mourn his passing are his many aunts and uncles: Norma (Gordon) Osbak, Joan Mitchell, Gordon (Brenda) Anderson, Orville (Marilyn) Anderson, Dianne (Richard) McLaughlin, Valerie (Ted) Pauwells, Ken (Irene) Cochrane, Glenn Cochrane, Gary (Gail) Cochrane, Betty-Anne (Phil) Dobranski, Dwight (Retha) Cochrane, Trevor (Marion) Cochrane and Gordon (Inge) Cochrane. He will be forever remembered by his many cousins and friends. Kurtis grew up in Headingley, Manitoba and attended school at Phoenix Elementary, Ness Junior High and graduated from Sturgeon Creek High School. Kurtis continued on to Red River College and graduated as a Ford Diesel Master Technician. Kurtis was employed as a Diesel Mechanic at River City Ford and prior to that Landau Ford. Kurtis cherished spending time with his pride and joy Dylan whenever they were together. Kurtis' favourite pastime was fixing vehicles, camping, boating, fishing and snowmobiling. When Kurtis was younger he enjoyed horseback riding from Amaranth to Alonsa. Kurtis was always there to lend a helping hand to anybody that asked. Because of Kurtis' easy going personality, he made friends wherever he went. A Prayer Service will be held on Sunday, January 17, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, 433 Main Street in Stonewall. The Memorial Service will be held on Monday, January 18, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. also at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dylan Cochrane - In Trust at any Royal Bank of Canada branch. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements.
