LEONA JESTADT (published on January 16, 2010)

LEONA JESTADT (nee NEUMAN) 1934 - 2009 It is with great sadness we announce the unexpected passing of our mother Leona Jean Jestadt on December 31, 2009 at the Health Sciences Centre, at the age of 75 years. Remaining to forever remember Leona's blessings are: her husband of 52 years Raymond, sons Raymond Jr. (Colleen), Richard and daughter Diane. She will also be missed by her brother Joseph Neuman (Sheila), sisters Marion Pietracci (Harold) and Eleanor Dureault. She was predeceased by her parents, Bruno and Mary Neuman and brother-in-law, Martial Dureault. Leona was born on June 12, 1934 in Rosenfeld, MB. While in school she enjoyed and excelled in sports including softball, volleyball and track. After school she was a dedicated employee of the Bank of Montreal. Leona had volunteered for over 40 years at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church. She began with Brownie Leader and progressed to teaching Catechism and became the Catechism Coordinator, a position she took pride in doing for 25 years. She was also a member of the Catholic Women's League. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 18, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Mountain and Andrews St. with Rev. Fr. Kevin J. Smith and Rev. Fr. Diosdado Parrenas officiating. Entombment to follow in Queen of Heaven Mausoleum, Assumption Cemetery. Mom, although you are very sadly missed by your Forever Loving Family and Friends, we know that you are safe in the arms of the Lord with Grandma and Grandpa at your side. You are Forever in our Hearts and words cannot express how much you have touched everyone who has ever known you. We will always love you. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
