GERALD (GERRY) BRYAN WARREN (published on January 16, 2010)

GERALD (GERRY) BRYAN WARREN May 18, 1940 - January 13, 2010 With great sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Gerald Warren from his long hard fought battle with cancer at Grace Hospital. Gerald leaves behind to mourn his loving wife Carol; three step children, Ed (Cindy), Rick (Jody) and Caroline (Sid); his beloved dog Travis; brothers-in-law, Tom, Wayne (Kim) and many other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his baby girls, Karen and Holly; his parents, Frank and Geraldine; brother Tyler; and sister Karol. Gerald was born in Winnipeg and spent his entire life in St James. He attended United College but had to leave to help the growing family business, Warren's Cartage. He then started his own business, Gerry Warren Trucking, where he spent many years and long hours hauling gravel from Gull Lake to Winnipeg in the summers and supplies to northern Manitoba on the ice roads in winter. In late 1970's, he started hauling heavy freight all over western Canada. In 1992, when his brother passed away, he returned to the family business. In 2002, the family closed the business and he worked for Piston Ring (South). He then retired in 2006. Not only did Gerald work extremely hard and value his family, he took great pleasure in his time with his dogs. They say you can judge a man's character by how close his pets are to him. His loyal friends, Cindy, Lady, Duchess, Brandy, Katie and Travis, all worshipped him. A favorite pastime on the rare days he was not working was fishing at Lake Wanipigow. He also spent many hours helping his mother with her spectacular flowers. Our family would like to extend a special thanks to neighbors and friends for their help and support. Thank you also goes to Dr. Pat Harris, Dr. Schellenberg and the staff at Grace Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gerald's memory may be made to D'Arcy's A R C, 730B Century St., Winnipeg, MB. Viewing will take place on Sunday, January 17 between 7:00 and 9:00 p.m. in Neil Bardal Inc., 3030 Notre Dame Avenue (across from Brookside Cemetery). Gerry's funeral service will be held on Monday, January 18 at 1:00 p.m. at the same location. NEIL BARDAL INC. (204) 949 2200
